Gesu School Celebrates Black History Month 2018!

At Gesu School, we believe that every month is Black History Month. We are especially proud to commemorate the accomplishments of African Americans each February. School-wide, students researched their heroes and learned about their importance in history and contributions across the globe. Enjoy these highlights from Gesu’s 2018 Black History Month celebrations!

Fifth grade girls in Teacher Tammi Crummy's class presented a "live museum" of their African American heroines. Students did research on their Chromebooks, wrote a paper, and designed a poster. The learning didn't stop there! The girls shared their knowledge with the entire school and their families at their exhibit, where they came to life as their heroines.

Highlights from Catholic Schools Week 2018!

Brimming with unique activities, prayer, and service, the Gesu community celebrated Catholic Schools Week from January 23-February 3. Catch a glimpse of these special days and how Gesu embraced this year’s theme from the National Catholic Educational Association: “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” Gesu School is proud of our Catholic identity as a Jesuit and IHM school that educates the whole child—from academics to character development.

During Catholic Schools Week, Gesu School students celebrate the community by donating more than 500 packaged food items to the Nutritional Development Services (NDS) Community Food Program. We are proud of them for being young “men and women for others." Thanks to student council for collecting and organizing all of the donations.
