2017 Gesu Gala: Students and Alumni Share “Gesu Through Our Eyes” with 350 Attendees!

Thank you to all who supported the 2017 Gesu Gala! Enjoy these photos and videos from the evening. We are so grateful for your prayer, time, and generosity, which enable Gesu School to deliver the highest quality education and to ensure that each child reaches his or her full potential.

The gala drew 350 attendees! We raised more than $396,000 in total, including $80,000 through our auctions and $62,000 for "Raise Your Hand for Technology at Gesu," which will support replacement of SMART Boards in 13 classrooms.

Congratulations to 2017 Spirit Medal recipients, James F. Higgins '45 and H. Chase Lenfest, whose commitment to Gesu School for decades is inspiring. Enjoy these videos highlighting their many contributions to Gesu School’s mission and students.

A special thanks to our 2017 Presenting Sponsors: Marguerite & Gerry Lenfest, The H. Chase Lenfest Foundation, Inc., and M & S Foundation and Susan Martinelli Shea for their generosity and dedication. We are grateful to Gala Co-Chairs (pictured below) Greg Rigdon & Molly Murphy, Ted & Eileen Raven, Andrew & Michele Clayton, and John & Jennifer Curry, and the entire Gala Committee for their efforts to make the evening so successful.

The Gesu Gospel Choir moved the audience, singing “Every Praise” with soloist and Gesu School Staff Member, Vernon Gooseby. Thank you to Gesu’s Choir Director, H.L. Ratliff, for sharing the gift of music.

Gesu School alumni and a current student relayed the impact Gesu has had on their lives through a powerful spoken word performance, “Gesu Through Our Eyes,” written by Kimberly ’12.

Thank you to Gesu’s brilliant young artists and their incredibly talented Teacher, Linda Hartzell, for sharing their beautiful artwork in the silent auction.

Gesu School 3rd graders expressed their joy and talent through a high-energy dance performance to “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” Thanks to Jennifer Yackel from the RockReach Program for the fantastic choreography.

Vie was a spectacular setting for the evening.
