Gesu School students are beginning the school year greeted by a new playground on the roof! This build is a community effort, from raising $75,000 in funds to putting the finishing touches on the structure of the new playscape.
Gesu School is tremendously grateful to these friends and supporters of the new playscape: The Ethel Mae Hocker Foundation, PENTA Building Group Foundation, and other generous donors. We sincerely thank the families of our partner school, Rosemont School of the Holy Child, in Rosemont, PA, for their generous and enthusiastic support, with special acknowledgement to the children of the Sims, Cooney, Trumpbour, and Schreder families for launching this project through online giving pages, a bake sale, and even a hot chocolate stand!
Gesu is also grateful to the St. Joseph’s Prep community for their ongoing support for this project and Gesu Trustee, Rosemary Español, and her team at IEI Group for assisting with logistics, licensing, and inspection.
Thank you to all who have ensured that Gesu students have a safe, state-of-the-art space to play outdoors for years to come!
