Playground Build a Success Thanks to Donors, Staff, and Volunteers!

On September 19, 2015, the Gesu community gathered together to build a brand new, state-of-the-art playscape for our 450 students! Nearly 30 volunteers—numerous parents/guardians, Gesu staff, and friends from the community—spent the day hard at work on the structure.

Gesu is sincerely grateful to all the volunteers, and Kevin Umbreit from Recreation Resource USA, who made this project happen and have ensured that Gesu students have a special place to play outdoors!

Enjoy these photos from before, during, and after the build.

Thank you to Recreation Resource USA for designing the playscape and to Burke, who manufactured it.

We are deeply grateful to Gesu staff, parents/guardians, and friends who so generously shared their time on a Saturday to support our students and build the new playground structure! It was truly a team effort.

Students are ecstatic to jump, climb, and slide on their new playscape!

Gesu extends our sincere thanks to these friends and supporters of the new playscape: The Ethel Mae Hocker Foundation, PENTA Building Group Foundation, and other generous donors. We are truly grateful to the families of our partner school, Rosemont School of the Holy Child, in Rosemont, PA, for their enthusiastic support, with special acknowledgement to the children of the Sims, Cooney, Trumpbour, and Schreder families for launching this project through online giving pages, a bake sale, and even a hot chocolate stand!
